Students of the six (6) Primary schools will compete for top awards in an Independence Quiz. The themes for the quiz are Civics, Grenadian History and Current Affairs. The winners of the preliminary rounds will advance to the finals to determine the ultimate Champion.

The Award Ceremony will see the recognition of men and women who would have made tremendous sacrifices and contributed to the development of Carriacou and Petit Martinique. Award categories include Business, Education, Health, Fishing, Farming, Community Service, Culture, Sports and Police. The venue for this event is the Cassada Bay Resort.

Parish Day

National colors, conch shells, dancing of the cake and flag will herald the marquee event of the celebration of our 50th Independence on Carriacou and Petit Martinique in Hillsborough. The day includes a military parade featuring speeches by government officials, an exhibition of culture, and fireworks display. The parish day will close off with performances by our local soca and calypso artists.

This is US – Cultural Explosion

Art, books, pastry, jewelry. If it’s made in Carriacou, you will find it on show at the Botanical Garden starting from 3 pm. The expo will continue, as all eyes will turn to the stage, as our indigenous culture and heritage will be showcased in the climax of Independence activities for the Sister Isles.

Launch of The Gallery, Reflexion, Oliver Benoit Studio

Reflexion, is a solo retrospective exhibition featuring artworks created by Oliver Benoit over the last 30 years. The exhibition, opening 15th February 2024 to 30th April 2024, transforms the St. Paul’s Community Centre in St. George into, The Gallery, a temporary immersive art space showcasing over 60 artworks. The exhibition is accompanied by stimulating presentations, panel discussions and an immerging artist mentorship program.
